Leading the modern fire service requires a unique set of skills. The first step towards understanding how we as firefighters and fire officers can become better servant leaders is to identify our personal and professional needs, develop action plans in order to achieve them, constantly evaluate our progress, and ultimately become the leaders that others need.
Sadly, these skills are not often taught or discussed. This course will identify what specifically is needed for today’s fire service professional to thrive. It is my goal to study and share the information that I have learned from my time as a US Marine, Fire Officer, and lifelong student of the craft of firefighting and pass it on to the future of the fire service.
Sociology, Psychology, and the study of the human condition are passions of mine and I strive to seek continuous improvement and help others to do the same.
